Production Planning Analyst

The Production Planning Analyst is responsible for developing the daily production plan to satisfy customer demand and meet shipping objectives. The qualified individual will also be responsible for providing the Distribution Center with a monthly production plan consistent with the capacity and sales forecast.  Working in conjunction with Operations Management and other Logistics Personnel, the Production Planning Analyst is responsible for tracking and reporting operational metrics.  Strong collaboration with the Business Managers, Operations, Sales Support, Purchasing, and other departments will be critical to meeting business goals.


  • Communicate with Sales Support as needed when there are significant variations in product demand
  • Work in conjunction with Warehouse Management to reconcile inaccuracies with customer shipments and deliveries
  • Maintain various reporting systems for key metrics ensuring that documentation is accurate and timely.
  • Document key information for analysis which includes downtime, peak production, inventory accuracy and scheduling accuracy
  • Support meetings to review service levels, performance against schedule, inventory strategy, supply plan to meet demand, and resource implications. Update production plan as necessary.
  • Support the annual physical inventory process
  • Assure that documentation is prepared and maintained for operational processes. Coordinate with personnel from Operations, Quality & Inspection, Logistics, Sales Support and other departments as necessary


  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training or work experience
  • Experience using MRP/ERP systems, especially Advance Planning Systems; SAP experience is a plus
  • Advanced Excel skills required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Power Bi desktop or equivalent is a plus
  • Strong communication and organization skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analysis skills
  • Ability to understand customer demand and how to alter production to meet demand as well as an ability to manage complexity and resolve conflicts that arise from balancing multiple priorities
  • Ability to use a computer for extended periods of time
  • Willingness to work in the Distribution Center for data collection
